JR LANCER NIGHT at BC FOOTBALL
  • This is the annual Jr Lancer Night at BCHS.
  • All Jr Lancer football players and cheerleaders will be introduced as a group onto the field prior to the varsity game kick-off.  We'll form a very long tunnel for the Lancer Varsity players to run through as they are introduced onto the field.
  • Junior Lancer Cheerleaders will cheer for the first half of the game with the BC Varsity Cheerleaders.
  • Jr Lancer Night will also be paired with a JLC Benefit Night Dinner at Fuddrucker's prior to the game.  Join us for dinner, then we'll all caravan to BCHS together.
  • More details will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

JLC FAMILY HOLIDAY OUTING - THE NUTCRACKER
  • Ellie Kumer, a current 5th grader at Brookfield Elementary and former Junior Lancer Cheerleader, has been cast in the Milwaukee Ballet's production of The Nutcracker.  JLC will have a family holiday outing to see Ellie perform on Sunday, December 18th at 1:30 PM at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
  • This event is open to the entire JLC family - parents, siblings, friends - come and join us as we support Ellie and come together for a heartwarming and joyful holiday performance!
  • Ticketmaster lists ticket pricing starting at $35 (including taxes and fees).  I will be happy to chaperone any cheerleader wishing to go to the ballet, and we'll try to work out a carpool with all of the families attending.
I will place an order this week Friday for group tickets - please email me by Thursday evening if you'd like to join us.

Important Announcements ...

PRACTICE TIME CHANGE!!!
  • In the best interest for the entire JLC program and with the support of the 5th, 6th and 8th grade coaches, I have made the decision to stagger practice times on a permanent basis.   Effective October 1st, 2nd - 4th grade and 7th grade will continue to practice from 5:30 - 7pm, and 5th - 6th grade and 8th grade will practice from 6:30 - 8pm.   Practice days will continue to be Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • I made the decision to pair 2nd - 4th grade and 7th grade together and 5th - 6th grade and 8th together for practices because of 4 sets of siblings within the program.  Our youngest team also needs to get home at a decent time so they can get a good night's rest.
  • I believe staggering practice times will make our practices much more effective and productive - and safe.  Each team will get a larger practice area, and the distractions will be cut in half.  Personally, I will be pulled into not quite as many directions as I am now, and have more time to focus on each team as Head Coach.
  • The practice time change means my lovely cheer mat schedule must now be modified.  Effective October 1st,  2nd - 4th Grade and 7th Grade must now handle cheer mat set-ups, and 5th - 6th Grade and 8th Grade must handle cheer mat clean-ups.  Please note that each family must sign up for 7 shifts.  If you have already completed your shifts in September, you just need to sign up for whatever your remaining shifts are.  Please email me your new requested shift dates - shifts will be filled first come, first served.

JLC CHALLENGE!
  • We are kicking off a JLC general fund fundraiser to coincide with the extremely profitable Boston Store Community Day Event.  This challenge is optional, and not mandatory.
  • Each cheerleader is asked to sell 4 Community Day coupon books on behalf of JLC.  Each coupon book is sold for $5.  For every 4 books sold, you will receive one raffle ticket when you turn in your money to Coach Uhrle at practice.  The raffle ticket will give you one entry into our Grand Prize Giveaway - a Visa Gift Card equivalent to 25% of all profits raised during the challenge period!  If every cheerleader sells 4 books, the Grand Prize is $280!
  • The Challenge period begins Monday, September 26th and runs through Wednesday, November 9th. I will have coupon books with me at practice for distribution each Monday and Wednesday.
  • The Grand Prize drawing will take place at 6:45pm on Monday, November 14th.  As this is a competition week - your attendance is mandatory to win :)
  • Books sold and profits earned for this challenge will be deposited into the JLC general fund - NOT individual accounts.
  • Please note, if the Grand Prize winning family has an outstanding balance due to JLC, the grand prize will be applied to your outstanding balance, and you will receive any remaining amount, if applicable.
  • Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!  Thanks for your support!
