Important Announcements ...

  • We are just 10 practices away from our first competition of the season - the Menomonee Falls Indian Invite on November 19th at Menomonee Falls High School.
  • It is extremely important that your daughter attend these 10 practices, the final 4 of which are MANDATORY to attend the ENTIRE practice time, or your daughter WILL be removed from her stunt group or key tumbling pass.
  • All of the girls are working very hard, and absences, tardiness or leaving early by their team members hurts the entire team.  Cheerleading is unlike many sports in that there is no one sitting on the bench waiting to fill in for your daughter if she skips practice.  It is important for any cheerleader in a stunt group to come to every practice as the girls need as much practice as possible to safely and correctly perform their stunts.  If your daughter skips practice, arrives late, or leaves early, there are 3 - 4 girls in her stunt group that now can't practice their stunt.  It isn't fair to them, and it isn't safe.
  • The 2nd - 4th grade team in particular needs to make an effort to come on time and stay for the full practice each week.  They are still learning choreography, and any time missed from practice holds the entire team back.
  • Exact arrival and team performance times for the Indian Invite will be sent to all families the week of the competition, but be prepared for all teams to arrive at 8am!
  • Spectator admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.  There will be concessions and vendors present at the competition, so you may want to bring extra fun money :)

  • Per our JLC Cheer Constitution, our competition season attendance policy is now in force.
  • Effective October 1st, attendance is mandatory at all practices and competitions.  Cheerleaders are allowed three absences from practice for the remainder of the season.  A 4th absence without a previously made arrangement with Coach Uhrle can result in dismissal from the program, or suspension from a competition.
  • All absences should be reported ASAP to Coach Uhrle via email at  Coach Uhrle will share the information with your team's coach.
  • If your daughter is going to miss one of our competitions (Indian Invite - November 19th, Bring on the Heat - January 8th, Brookfield Blast - February 4th, KMLHS - February 11th, and Badger State Cheer Championships - February 26th), a minimum 4 week notice is required.
  • As a reminder, attendance at practice for the 2 weeks prior to a competition is MANDATORY!

  • The JLC Challenge is going strong!  See Coach Uhrle prior to practice each day to pick up your coupon books to participate!
  • The Grand Prize is now up to $45!

Inspiration of the Week ...

Nine-year-old Casey Stokes, like his namesake, loves baseball. Already it's taught him the rewards of hard work. Casey’s team was headed for the Little League World Series when his aunt asked him a question.  She said, “Casey, if you were building a team and you had to choose between a talented player who worked hard sometimes and an average player who always worked hard, who would you choose?” Casey hardly paused. He said, “The average player—because champions are made in practice.”  From, February 15, 2009

Have a great week!  Go Lancers!
