Weekly Newsletter: October 2011, Vol 4

Coming up this week ....
Monday, October 24th
CHEER PRACTICE
  • 2nd - 4th Grade and 7th Grade:  5:30 - 7pm.  All cheerleaders that arrive prior to 5:30pm will be put to work helping to set up the cheer mats.  The set-up crew is responsible for moving the mats from the gym to the cafeteria, and rolling out the mats.
  • 5th - 6th Grade and 8th Grade: 6:30 - 8pm. All cheerleaders are asked to assist in rolling up the cheer mats after practice.  The clean-up crew is responsible for moving the mats once they're rolled up.
  • Mat Set-Up Crew:  Agathe, Katrina, Kenzie and Sophia (1 MORE HELPER NEEDED PLEASE!!)
  • Mat Clean-Up Crew: Josliane and Sarah (3 MORE HELPERS NEEDED PLEASE!)
Wednesday, October 26th

6th, 7th and 8th GRADE JR LANCER FOOTBALL CONFERENCE CROSSOVER GAMES
  • I would like all 8th graders to cheer at the 8th grade game, all 7th graders to cheer at the 7th grade game, and all 5th & 6th grade cheerleaders to cheer at the 6th grade game.  If the weather cooperates, all cheerleaders will stunt at the games.
  • Times and Locations TBD - I will share this information as soon as it becomes available, but be prepared that they will be away games.  We will set up carpools so all girls can go to the game.  Let me know if you're willing to drive, and how many girls can fit in your car!

Important Announcements ...
CHOREOGRAPHY & ATTENDANCE
  • There are just 7 practices left before our first competition of the season!
  • If your daughter will miss practice, please email me asap so the coaches can plan practice accordingly.
SAVE THE DATE
  • Please save Friday, November 18th for a JLC carbo cram from 6 - 7:30pm. All teams will come together for our first carbo cram of the season!  Each team will be responsible for bringing certain food items - sign up will start next week.  We'll also make a craft, and there will be a $4 or $5 fee to be collected for girls that wish to make the craft.
  • Future carbo crams will be on a team by team basis, and organized by your team manager.  Each team will have an opportunity to have 4 additional carbo crams:  January 7th, February 3rd, February 10th, and February 25th.  If you're willing to host a carbo cram at your home for your daughter's team, please email me with your preferred date.
  • More details regarding the November 18th carbo cram will be shared in next week's enewsletter.
CHEER TUMBLING CLASSES
  • The current BC Cheer tumbling class ends this week Tuesday, October 25th.  There will be a short break, then classes will resume for a winter session.  Stay tuned for more information!
  • The current Heat Athletic tumbling session ends on November 15th.  The winter session is expected to start right away, and will be a combined Beginner/Intermediate level class.  Stay tuned for more information!
  • All middle school cheerleaders are strongly encouraged to take supplemental tumbling classes throughout the year.
