TEAM TUMBLING AT HEAT ATHLETICS

Important Announcements ...

3RD AND FINAL INSTALLMENT DUE THIS WEEK!
  • Our 3rd and final payment in the amount of $125 is due this Friday, August 20th.
  • As a reminder, girls whose accounts are past due are not permitted to participate in any JLC event until their account is in good standing.

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE POLICY
  • If you anticipate missing any practices, whether on a regular basis due to other activities, or due to family vacations or illnesses, etc. please email me prior to your missing practice, so the coaches can plan accordingly.
  • As a reminder, if a cheerleader misses practice regularly due to another activity, i.e. they miss one practice a week due to confirmation classes or another sport practice, they will not be placed into a stunt group for competitions.  They will still learn and pass stunt progressions with their team, and will have a vital role to play in the competition routine.  This policy is documented in our cheer constitution, and all parents and athletes signed our constitution upon registration agreeing to this policy and possible actions due to repeated absences.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE
  • We are confirmed for the following cheer competitions:  Indian Invite - November 19th, 2011; Bring on the Heat - January 8th, 2012; Brookfield Blast - February 4th, 2012 and KMLHS Cheer and Dance Competition - February 11th, 2012.
  • We are still tentative for the Badger State Cheerleading Championships in Madison in late February 2012.
  • If your daughter will miss any of the above mentioned competitions, please let me know immediately, but no later than 4 weeks prior to each competition.  The coaches will need to re-work the choreography for any missing girls to ensure the rest of the team performs at their best ability.  This can take several hours of extra work for the coaches, and the team needs as much advance notice as possible to practice the new choreography.

CHOREOGRAPHY DAYS & STUNTING
  • Monday, August 22nd and Wednesday, August 24th.  Please email me asap if your daughter is unable to attend choreography days.
  • Please be sure to talk with your daughters and let them know that not all cheerleaders will be able to do what they "want" (i.e. we can't have a team where everyone is a flyer).  Cheerleading is a team sport, and each individual plays a very important role in the entire team's success.  As a recreational cheer organization, we will place girls where they will be able to contribute their best to the entire team.  When the girls reach high school, they will be able to try-out for the spot that they want, and even then, they will be placed into a role that their coach feels is best for the entire team to succeed.
  • JLC does not accept any parental requests for their daughters to have specific roles in stunting.  We look at what's best for the entire team, always keeping safety first and foremost in mind.  Please respect the coaches decisions in creating stunt groups.
  • Please know that smaller, more petite girls are not automatically placed as flyers in a stunt group.

SPIRITWEAR
  • Orders are in from our 1st run of Spiritwear Sales and will be distributed after the Bullying presentation at practice tomorrow night.
  • The turquoise tye-dye shirt is on backorder - Burghardts will contact me as soon as they arrive, and I will distribute them at a future practice date.
  • I have a limited number of JLC baseball caps for sale for $15, and a limited number of embroidered JLC royal blue fleece full-zip jackets in size youth large for sale for $30.  Please let me know if you'd like to purchase one of these items.

  • The videos are hosted on a private site and all JLC families have been sent the URL and password.
  • More videos will be added throughout the coming week.  Some of the motions may have changed from how they were performed in previous years.  Please use the motions shown in the videos as that is how BC Cheer is currently performing the cheer.

BOSTON STORE COMMUNITY DAY FUNDRAISER
  • We're kicking off our most profitable fundraiser of the year!  As a reminder, all fundraisers are optional and cheerleaders are not required to participate.
