Important Announcements ...

Special Olympics Basketball Tourney ...
  • Regretfully, PGaglinksi has informed me that the March 24th Special Olympics basketball tourney at BCHS has been cancelled due to a lack of registered teams.
  • Thank you to the cheerleaders that volunteered to cheer at this event!  PJ will be in touch with me should there be another event in our area that we will be able to participate in.

Ear piercing ...
  • If your daughter is returning to JLC and would like to get her ears pierced, the off-season is a great time to do this, so she'll have sufficient time for her ears to heal before the cheer season begins.
  • As a reminder, piercings must be removed for all JLC practices and events.

Coach Uhrle's availability during the off-season ...

  • With the exception of the weekly newsletters and upcoming events listed below, I will be generally "on vacation" from JLC until May 3, 2012.  I will still answer emails during this time, but please allow me 3 - 4 days to respond.

Uniform Re-Sale ...
  • We will once again offer a uniform re-sale to next season's cheerleaders.  The uniform re-sale and fittings with the uniform vendor is tentatively scheduled for the month of June.  We will not have a new uniform design next year.
  • We will offer the following items for re-sale: shell, skirt, liner, briefs, and shoes (2011-2012 design, not the one with the blue inserts).  We will not offer hair bows and poms for re-sale as we will have new designs for both pieces next season.
  • If you would like to sell your daughter's uniform pieces, I will collect items the week of June 3rd - 9th at my home.  All items must be cleaned and freshly laundered, in good condition with no stains, rips or tears.  Please clean the shoes as well - I will not accept scuffed or dirty cheer shoes.
  • When you drop off the items at my house, you will have an opportunity to indicate your selling price for each item.  The price you indicate will be the price the item is sold for - there is no negotiating between the re-sale volunteers and potential buyers.  Buyers will write checks payable directly to the sellers, and checks and unsold items must be picked up from my home within 3 days after the re-sale.

July 29th - August 11th
2012 - 2013 Choreography Days
  • If your daughter will be cheering with JLC next season, please keep these 2 weeks clear for choreography.
  • Choreography will be split into 3 days, with each day being 3 - 4 hours in length. The exact days are TBD and may be held on non-JLC summer practice days (summer practice days are TBD).
  • Choreography days will be held at the Heat Athletics cheer facilities in Sussex, WI.
  • Choreography is MANDATORY for all Junior Lancer Cheerleaders.  This is an important time for cheerleaders to work together with their teammates, coaches and professional choreographer to learn their routine for the season.  If cheerleaders are not in attendance this time is not nearly as productive, and places a burden on the team and coach.
  • Exact choreography days and times by team will be shared as soon as possible, and no later than the parent meeting on May 3rd.

Quote of the week ...

"Don't limit yourself.  Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do.  You can go as far as your mind lets you.  What you believe, remember, you can achieve."  ~ Mary Kay Ash
