Important Announcements ...

Severe Weather Policy
  • During the summer, as our practices are outdoors, we will practice rain or shine, with the exception of an active Severe Weather Warning for Tornados or Thunderstorms for the City of Brookfield.
  • All decisions regarding severe weather are made with information found on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration website.
  • In the event of an active Severe Weather Warning (Excessive Heat, Tornado or Thunderstorm) that is issued for the City of Brookfield prior to practice start time and will occur during our practice times, practice will be cancelled.  Parents will be notified via text message 30 minutes prior to practice start.  An announcement will also be posted on this website, the JLC Facebook page and Instagram account.
  • In the event of a Severe Weather Warning for the City of Brookfield that is issued during practice, or if lightening is present, we will seek immediate shelter in the Wirth Park Aquatic Center, and parents will be alerted via text message to pick up their child immediately.
  • In the event of an active Severe Weather Advisory or Watch (Excessive Heat, Tornado or Thunderstorm) that is issued for the City of Brookfield prior to practice start time, we may continue to have practice, depending upon a variety of factors.  If a decision is made to cancel practice, families will be notified via text message 30 minutes prior to practice start.  An announcement will also be posted on this website, the JLC Facebook page and Instagram account.
  • Please note that safety is the cornerstone of our program.  If any family personally feels that their child should not come to practice due the weather, they can keep their child at home, and complete the online absence reporting form.
  • In situations with inclement weather, if you do not receive a text message 30 minutes prior to practice start time - please double check the website, Facebook, or Instagram.  If no message is posted on any of these sites, practice will go on for that evening.

Save the Date - City of Brookfield Independence Day Parade

  • JLC will once again participate in the City of Brookfield Independence Day Parade on Thursday, July 4th.
  • If you are out of town or otherwise unavailable to march in the parade with us, please fill out our online absence reporting form.
  • We always have a great time in this parade and we hope to see many of you there!  Parents are welcome to walk with us!

Season Calendar Updated!
  • Please be sure to cross-reference the JLC calendar with your home/family calendars.  I have received the 2013-2014 WHMS "No-Use" dates, and some practices have been removed or rescheduled.  New dates and events have been added as well.

Summer Absences
  • Summer Attendance Policy: June 17th through August 31st, 2013
All team practices are mandatory and must be attended by all team members.  During this time the only absences that are excused are absences due to:
    • family events and vacations
    • illness to the team member and/or immediate family members which require travel and attention, with doctor’s documentation
    • required school obligation which is for a grade (i.e., chorus/band/orchestra performances.  Not study/homework time)
  • Absences will be listed in the individual event's description section of our online calendar so each family can confirm that their dates were received by Coach Uhrle, and to keep track of their excused/unexcused absences.
  • No matter what the reason or when it occurs, in order for an absence to be considered excused all athletes must inform the Head Coach at least 24 hours in advance via email.
  • Review our completed Attendance Policy on the Program Rules webpage.
  • To report an absence, please complete our online absence reporting form.  Please complete this form even if you may have already communicated absences to Coach.

Quote of the Week ...

"When you say, 'It's hard", it actually means, 'I'm not strong enough to fight for it'. Stop saying it's hard.  Fight for it and make it happen!" ~ Author Unknown
