Important Announcements ...

Choreography Recap
  • Thank you to all who participated in choreography to make it a success!  Thank you especially to our choroegraphy Courtney Joers for working her creative cheer magic with both of our teams.  It's going to be an exciting season!
  • It is extremely important that your daughter continue to practice her role in the routine on her own time at home.  Both teams have intricate dance sections and in order to make it look great, each athlete must know her own individual role within the dance. Thank you for supporting your daughter in her home practice time!

New Uniform Order Recap
  • Thank you to those that came to our new uniform fitting on Tuesday, July 16th.
  • New uniform pieces are custom made for each athlete and will take 6 - 8 weeks to be delivered.
  • Once your FULL order has been delivered, I will distribute it at practice for you.

Competition Headbands
  • Competition Headbands are IN and all but 1 or 2 orders have been distributed to your athlete.  The remaining orders will be distributed at practice on Monday.
  • I ordered a few extra headbands, so if you wish to purchase one, just let me know.

Update to the Program Rules
  • Please note the following update to our attendance policy which is in effect immediately:
    • No matter what the reason or when it occurs, in order for an absence to be excused all athletes must inform the Head Coach at least 24 hours in advance via email the online absence reporting form.
    • Be sure to bookmark this link for your easy reference.  The link is also listed on the right hand side of our webpage,  under the heading "Important Forms"
    • The online absence reporting form is a valuable tool for Coach to track absences as it also timestamps the date and time the absence was reported for tracking purposes.
    • If you are aware of any school year vacations, please enter them as soon as possible into the online reporting form so Coach can plan accordingly.
  • Please note the following update to our Dress Code Policy, which is effect immediately:
    • In addition to every time the JLC uniform is worn, at all times (practices, football games, competitions and every time the JLC uniform is worn, etc) all nails must be trimmed short so when looking at the palm of a cheerleader's hand, you do not see the nails.
    • Athletes will be given an opportunity to trim their nails if they are too long at practice, etc.  If they refuse, they will sit out of practice and that practice will be considered an unexcused absence.

Save the Date - Lancer Nation Media Day
  • Lancer Nation Media Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 10th, time TBD.
  • Lancer Nation Media Day is a time for the Jr Lancer football and cheer programs to come together with BC Football and Cheer for a large "Lancer Nation" photo.
  • All JLC athletes are requested to be in the photo - both football and competitive athletes.  Athletes should wear their uniforms if they own them, or a royal blue shirt and black shorts if they don't have them yet.
  • For this event only, athletes can keep their hair down, wear earrings (small studs) and keep their nail polish on.
  • We will take individual athlete photos of all athletes in attendance at the event for our photo button fundraiser.

JLC Family Outing to Mt. Olympus in the Wisconsin Dells
  • Our JLC family outing to Mt. Olympus is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd.
  • All JLC families are invited to attend - this will be a great way for all parents, siblings, etc to get know each other as we kick off football season in a few shorts weeks!
  • Each family is responsible for purchasing their own tickets (either online or at the gate) and providing their own transportation.
  • Because this event includes a waterpark, JLC/Coach will not chaperone any individual athlete due to liability concerns.  However, other parents can buddy up with other athletes to chaperone them if they wish.
  • Please email Coach if your family is planning to go, so we can coordinate a meeting spot at the park.

Quote of the Week ...
