Weekly Newsletter: December 2013, Vol 5

Happy New Year Message from Coach

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

    Spring & Summer Tumbling Session
    • We are pleased to continue our team tumbling classes with Elite Tumbling through the off season.  Many of our cheerleaders have made great gains in tumbling skills this season, and I want to see this trend continue into next season.
    • My goal for all incoming 5th grade and higher cheerleaders for next season is a round off back handspring.
    • Spring classes will be held on Wednesdays at WHMS.  All incoming 5th - 9th grade cheerleaders should strongly consider continuing tumbling lessons in the off season to prepare for try-outs.
    • Summer classes will be held TBD at Heat.   All incoming 5th - 8th grade cheerleaders should strongly consider continuing tumbling classes in the summer if they wish to have tumbling choreographed into next season's competition routine and are serious about continuing with cheerleading through middle school into high school.

    Quote of the Week …
