  • Uniform Distribution Make-Up Day #2
    • 5 - 6pm at Coach's House

Tuesday, September 2nd
  • First Day of School!
  • JLC Media Day @ Tonawanda Elementary School
    • Photo Times:
      • D - 5:30pm
      • C - 5:40pm
      • B - 5:50pm
      • A - 6:00pm
    • All athletes must be in full uniform - shell, skirt, black body liner, black briefs, no-show white socks and all white cheer shoes.  Hair is up in a high straight ponytail with the football cheer ribbon.
    • If a sports bra or other undergarment is worn under the body liner, it must be black in color.
    • For Media Day, if your cheerleader has bangs, it does not need to be pulled and secured away from the face (like it normally would for a football game or competition).  Bangs can be worn down as long as they are not covering the eyes.  Long side bangs should be tucked behind an ear - we want to see your gorgeous face!
    • For Media Day, we will permit conservative stud earrings only.  No dangling or hoop earrings will be permitted.  Remove necklaces or bracelets.  Be sure any henna or temporary tattoo is completely removed.
    • Nail polish will be permitted as long as it is a fresh manicure.  No chipped nail polish please!
    • Pay very close attention to our make-up policy:
      • K - 5th Grade: No make up.
      • 6th - 8th grade:  Natural mascara, light/natural lip gloss, and very light blush are acceptable, but not necessary.  Sparkles, glitter, lipstick, eye liner and eye shadow are prohibited.

Wednesday, September 3rd
  • Sapphire Team Practice @ Tonawanda Elementary
    • 5:30 - 7pm
    • Mat Duty: Donoghue & Kumer (arrive at 5:15pm)
  • Titanium Team Practice @ Tonawanda Elementary
    • 6:45 - 8:45pm
    • Mat Duty: Crow & Mohomes
  • Random Notes
    • Competitive cheer shoes must not be worn from the outdoors into practice.  They should be carried in, and changed into once you are indoors.
    • If you do not have mat duty, you should not enter the building no more than 10 minutes prior to your practice start time.
    • The practice start time is the time you are ready to start practice, not the time you are walking into the building.
    • Families with mat duty are responsible for moving the mats from the practice area to the storage area.  ALL cheerleaders are to assist with rolling out the mats at the start of practice and rolling up the mats at the end of practice. No cheerleader is permitted to leave practice without assisting with rolling up a mat.

Saturday, September 6th
  • A Squad Football Game at Brookfield Central HS
    • Arrival at 8:30am
  • B C & D Squad Football Game at Brookfield Central HS
    • Arrival at 10am
  • Random Notes
    • Meet at the entrance to the track on the southwest side of the track, near the old concessions stand/shack.  The only exception is A Squad - meet on the track right in front of the home section where we cheer.
    • Arrival time is when you are ready to go to start warm-up, not the time you are walking into the stadium, putting on your cheer shoes, etc.
    • If you purchased a pair of poms this summer, please remember to bring them - we only have poms for those that did not purchase poms this summer.
    • Always arrive fully dressed from head to toe.  If there will be any changes to the uniform, a notice will be sent on a team by team basis via text and email.
    • We will cheer rain or shine.  Or snow!  The only time we will not cheer is if the officials postpone the game due to active lightening.  In these situations, a case by case decision will be made if we will wait out the lightening (under shelter) or if the team will be dismissed.
    • D Squad members are permitted to leave after their half-time performance, however if they want to stay and cheer for the full game, we need to have at least 4 girls stay.
    • Only coaches, actively cheering cheerleaders are allowed on the track.  Parents & siblings must wait and stay in the stands.
    • A B & C squad will be dismissed at the end of their game to find their parents.  D squad will be released/handed off to a parent or older sibling at the end of their game/halftime.  JLC is not responsible for supervision before practice start time, and after the game ends.

Important Announcements

  • Jr Lancer Recognition Night has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 12th.  Exact arrival times will be shared once the date has been confirmed.
  • Titanium & Sapphire team members are required to cheer at this event.  Football Spirit Squad team members are highly encouraged to cheer at the game!
